SUPER SERIOUS The Disasters #1 Review!
The mysterious (and ever-so-serious) MQ was kind enough to review Issue #1 of The Disasters at Super Serious Comics (Now with Extra Cheese)! Here’s a few of the incredibly serious (but fair) comments MQ had to make!
“With The Disasters Micah Myers has managed to achieve something rare; crafting a story that gets better and better the more that you read!”
Micah is all about collecting those rare achievements. For example, his latest goal is to letter every comic book in existence!
“The Disasters takes a sideways look at the typical superhero/villain genre, viewing the world through the eyes of up and coming villains; a perspective that allows for some interesting storytelling and fantastic ideas.”
We’re looking at you sideways, MQ. Out of the corner of our eye, because we’ve got a huge crush on this review!
“The comic works with a diverse range of characters from all walks of life, bringing them together around a singular event (in opposition a specific heroic figure).”
Remember, folks. Diversity is important in comics. No matter what the #comicsgate people are shoveling.
“Each of the different styles (of art) adds a little something extra to the story, serving to set each character in their own unique milieu, even when they interact with other leading players. It’s a nice touch and keeps the reading fresh and interesting throughout.”
Agreed! Micah did an excellent job choosing artists with their own unique styles and voices to bring to the story. It’s our favorite part of what makes The Disasters tick!
“While it’s not a big volume, there is so much going on here with artwork and the ideas that emerge from the story, that it’s well worth the purchase!”
